THERAPEUTIC CAMPS
AAC INTENSIVE
Our AAC Intensive is designed for children aged 3-6 who receive AAC support for their communication skills (IEP, individual speech therapy, etc). This week-long intensive program will target AAC skills, early literacy, and collaborative play within a group context as well as focusing on caregiver education.

During the week, we will be focusing on learning and practicing communication partner strategies to support children who are using AAC. Parents will have the opportunity to practice modeling in and how to support their children build their language using AAC as well as support their early literacy skills.
DAILY SCHEDULE
3:00pm - 5:00pm
Each day will start off at 3:00pm with a group circle time followed by a snack and movement activities before delving into specific activities that will tie back to our book for the week. Language and literacy skills will be targeted all day as we explore art, writing, and movement.
CAREGIVER INVOLVEMENT
During the week, we will be focusing on learning and practicing communication partner strategies to support children who are using AAC. Parents will have the opportunity to practice modeling in and how to support their children build their language using AAC as well as support their early literacy skills.
AAC users are sometimes a small group in their communities, and we are excited to provide an avenue for families to connect with other families who have similar experiences and are navigating similar challenges.
GROUP THERAPY MODEL
Our therapeutic camps are run by two speech pathologists, allowing us to provide individualized therapy (within the group environment) for each child during the course of the camp. Clinicians create objectives for the week, take data, and provide a progress report at the end of the camp. Parents will receive a superbill for each session that can be submitted for reimbursement with your insurance.

MEET YOUR SLP CAMP COUNSELOR
Allessandra Farrar
M.S. CCC-SLP
Meet Allessandra, Speech Language Pathologist at Talk Time Boston. Allessandra is passionate about Augmentative and Alternative Communication and supporting emergent communicators to develop their ability to communicate during play, reading, and everyday activities. She has experience working AAC users of all ages and with a variety of no, low, and high-tech communication systems. Additionally, she is passionate about supporting parents through family education and empowering families to become experts in their child's communication. Allessandra is always exploring and learning how to best support all communicators, and she can't wait to work with your child!
